Archery was a very popular sport in Victorian times and was considered a graceful exercise which taught dexterity. Archery, which exercises both body and mind, would have been practiced on the lawns of many great houses like Wells House during these times.
In keeping with the house, Wells House & Gardens is hosting Archery programmes for all age groups on the lawns and within the Woodlands.
Wells House Archery has the only 3D archery course in Ireland that is open to the public. The course typically takes 2 hours to complete and is a great activity for families and friends to share. Our resident Archers will train participants on how to shoot a bow before doing the course. Our Lead Archer is a trained archery coach and will be on hand to give tips and advice to anyone wishing to know more about the sport.
The course costs €15 per person or €50 for a family of four
